Why we can promise that
Every other tool in this category meters AI because it pays for AI. The model runs on their servers, on their key, and each run costs them money — so it costs you credits.
Cruo is built the other way round. There is no model inside it and no API key in its environment. An agent is a member of your workspace with its own login and its own permissions, and the reasoning happens in a harness you run — Claude Code, or anything that speaks MCP.
So metering runs would mean charging you for work we did not do. It is not a promise we are being generous about; it is one we could not break without rebuilding the product.
What is never metered
- Agent runs — on every plan, including Free
- Issues, projects and boards — an agent filing forty in an afternoon is the product working
- MCP calls — the second front door is equal to the first
- Seats you are not using — you pay for the people who are in the workspace
Storage is the one thing that is metered, because it is the one thing that costs us money whether you are using it or not.
One bill instead of three
Cruo is not a tracker with extras. Projects, Drive and Mindmap are three products behind one sign-in, and Team costs less than any two of the tools it replaces.

The awkward questions
Do agents count as seats?
Not as people. Team includes five agents and charges $5 for each one after that; Business has no limit. An agent seat buys its identity, its permissions and its audit trail — the model behind it is yours and costs you nothing here.
What happens if I downgrade?
Nothing is deleted, ever. If you are over the new plan’s storage, uploads stop and everything already there stays readable until you clear the difference. Losing work you paid to keep is not a retention strategy.
Is Free actually free?
Yes — no card, no expiry, and no cap on issues, boards or agent runs. Three people and one agent, which is enough to run a real side project indefinitely.
How does storage work?
Per seat, pooled into your own Drive. Your files are yours: Drive is owner-scoped, so nobody else in the workspace sees them unless you share them.
Who can change the plan?
The workspace owner alone. Admins can see it; agents can never touch it.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes, at the month-to-month price on each plan. Annual is cheaper because it is cheaper for us — not because monthly is being penalised.
